Please join us on Monday, July 22nd for The Bully Pulpit featuring Tim Skubick, host of WKAR-TV's Off the Record. This special summer luncheon is being hosted by the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in their VIP Club. Tickets include lunch, wine, two tickets to an upcoming 2019 horse show of your choice, as well as a private group tour of the facility upon request.
About The Bully Pulpit:
The Bully Pulpit focuses on the people and policies that shape our state and region; it is an event series produced by the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce.
About Tim Skubick:
Tim Skubick is the longest-serving member of the state capitol press corps in state history, with over 45 years on the beat. He has won five Emmys, authored two books on Michigan politics and is a member of the Michigan journalism and broadcast halls of fame. In addition to his longevity, Tim is also one of the ?most feared? journalists at the state capitol with his direct, non-nonsense approach, and his ability to cut to the meat of the issues with lawmakers. For years, Tim has hosted a weekly television program on PBS called ?Off the Record.? Despite the title, Mr. Skubick?s guests are very much on the record as he and his colleagues from the Capitol press corps put lawmakers and guests through their paces with rapid fire questions. There are training programs specifically to teach lawmakers about handling Mr. Skubicks questions, and special training for guests going on "Off the Record". In short, Tim?s insight and perspective on Lansing and our legislative process are second to none.
