Summary of Your Job

Sell cherries and have fun this holiday with Cherry Republic Service Center!  We are looking for a merry band of ambassadors that love our fun products, Northern Michigan, and great service!

 

Who are the service center crew?  We are an energetic team of unique individuals that thrive on making cherry gifts the best part of someone’s day.  We are hiring for Holiday Service Center 

and Business Gifts Ambassadors.  Both of these positions engage our customers via phones, emails, and live chat, offering top notch service and work on order entry with precision, not speed, to ensure all data is accurate, including credit card, mailing, shipping information and gift messages.

 

What is the pay?

$17.00 per hour

 

What type of things do you do in the Service Center?

  • Give our customers great service over the phone and via email/live chat.

  • Help our customers place and troubleshoot orders.

  • Share your Northern Michigan experience and love of cherries with them.

  • Work as a team to ensure other tasks are being completed on time.

  • Opportunities to train new staff, become a captain, and become an email/live chat ambassador.



 

What type of things do you do in Business Gifts?

  • Build relationships with our Business Gifts customers via phone and email.

  • Project management - manage your day coordinating multiple components of orders at various stages.

  • Ensure follow ups are completed on time, getting the customer what they want before they know they want it!

  • Utilize data from CRM tools.

  • Data entry via Excel and Google suite - CRM experience a plus!

  • Coordinate order details and keep open communication with our Fulfillment Center.

Requirements for hiring

 
  • Fluidly works with a computer, google chrome, and other software.

  • Good spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

  • Ability to identify and describe your experiences of good and bad customer service.

  • Type a minimum of 35 words per minute.  You can practice at typingtest.com.  

  • Ability to read, speak, and write fluently in English.

  • Dedication to providing amazing customer service!

  • You must be available to work at least 3 shifts per week.

  • If hired, we require 3 days of consecutive training and 1 consecutive day on shift.

  • We want people who can work a minimum of 3 days per week with at least a 6 hour shift.

  • You can work at least 3 (6-8 hour) shifts per week at our peak time (December).

    • *We will have morning shifts starting at 8am, mid-day shifts, and afternoon/night shifts available.

How many hours will I work?

While we would expect at least 24 hours per week, our goal is that in our peak times everyone is at 40 hours per week.  If your availability is more limited it will be more difficult to get you to 40 hours per week but we can work with you and will have shorter night shifts available.  

 

When does the job begin and end?

This position will begin in late September 2022 and most positions will conclude December 12/23/22 with potential opportunities through the end of December 2022.

 

What is the hiring process like?

Once you apply we will look at your availability to evaluate if we want to invite you for an in person skills test.  Our in person skills test consists of a typing test and short interview.  You will know within an hour of your completed skills test whether an offer of employment will be extended or not.  If all goes well we will get you scheduled for training right on the spot. 

 

Physical Demands of Your Job

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires long periods sitting in a stationary position while using a computer. While performing the duties described above, you are frequently required to talk or hear. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with your hands and arms is necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, concentration within an environment where various noise levels are present, and distractions take place. All successful candidates will be able to type 35 wpm.
