Job Description
Under the supervision of the Prevention Director, the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center (TBCAC) seeks a full-time Prevention Coordinator to conduct its child sexual abuse prevention training programs and administer its prevention campaign. The Prevention Coordinator primarily works in Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Antrim, Leelanau, Wexford, and Benzie counties, along with the Sovereign Nation of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, and, by extension of its programs, throughout the State of Michigan. For the right candidate, this position will provide ample room for growth and learning.

  • Promote prevention training programs and coordinate training requests
  • Recruit, train, schedule and oversee a team of prevention training facilitators
  • Provide prevention training programs to groups of children and adults
  • Maintain data/reports for prevention training programs and campaign services
  • Maintain prevention department calendar and contacts
  • Coordinate and promote TBCAC prevention department outreach and initiatives through active participation in community events including festivals, fairs, community meetings, presentations, media opportunities and school events
  • Administer prevention campaign services and resources
  • Coordinate events and activities for Child Abuse Prevention Month and TBCAC prevention events
  • Collaborate with TBCAC staff regarding prevention department activities
  • Complete and maintain certification in all TBCAC training programs
  • Develop, maintain and oversee materials for TBCAC prevention training programs
  • Review and update grant applications, activities, objectives and reporting
  • Monitor and update TBCAC prevention websites
  • Maintain active and consistent TBCAC prevention presence on social media
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in teaching/ marketing/admin/project management
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Excellence in organizational, time management and written and oral communication skills
  • Marketing, research and social media experience
  • Strong spreadsheet/database experience
  • Comfort with computer software and internet research
