Gilchrist Farm Winery opened on Labor Day 2023 downtown Suttons Bay and became the first winery in northern Michigan to focus on food. The homey but refined, bright space offers a comfortable setting to enjoy a meal of small plates and a glass of wine. Directly catering to locals, the space includes a private room for meetings and celebrations as well as an area for families with young children.
The family owned 86 acre estate is on S French Road with 22 acres under vine and a market garden which supplies most of the produce for the kitchen. The chefs work with local farms to source ingredients according to the seasons, so menu changes happen weekly. Brunch and espresso drinks are available starting at 10am throughout the week, and sandwiches provide an excellent option for a business lunch. Closing at 9pm daily makes Gilchrist Farm the winery the option for all day dining with a glass of Leelanu’s finest wine.
