Goodwill Northern Michigan brings food to neighbors and helps people find home in Northern Michigan through our community-supported social enterprise. We are a community-owned nonprofit governed by a board of directors and led by an executive director who live and work in our region. We turn donated items people no longer need and philanthropic support into programs for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Our programs include Food Rescue, the Goodwill Inn homeless shelter, and Patriot Place housing community for Veterans transitioning from homelessness to housing. We also have a Good Partner Voucher program that provides store vouchers to people in crisis in our 19-county Northern Michigan region, so that they can select needed items in our stores at no cost.
Goodwill Northern Michigan is a member of Goodwill Industries International, a network of 156 community-based organizations.
Our Vision: Goodwill Northern Michigan envisions a community where everyone has access to a safe and secure place to live, the nutritious food they need, and opportunities for empowering employment — so that everyone can thrive.
