The Traverse Area District Library (TADL), is a network of six public libraries serving Grand Traverse County. TADL libraries provide innovative services and programming for our cardholders. The lending collection includes over 300,000 books, audiobooks, movies, music CDs, magazines, video games, e-books, downloadable audiobooks and magazines, and puppets as well as non-circulating genealogy and local history collections. The library also subscribes to a number of online subscription services that cover everything from learning a new language to business startups to investment strategy. Businesses can find comfortable workspaces, free wifi, assistance with research (business plans/mailing lists), 3D printers for prototypes, business books and videos, as well as language learning tools (including condensed lessons for business travelers).
The Main Library on Woodmere has both study and meeting room space available and is the regional home of the award-winning Talking Book Library, a service for visually and physically impaired patrons in Grand Traverse and seven surrounding counties.
Any resident of the TADL service area is entitled to a free library card. Visitors are welcome to use the TADL lending collection but some restrictions may apply. Stop by any branch or member library to apply for a card or visit tadl.org/getacard
