WM serves nearly 25 million customers in residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal markets throughout North America through a network of collection operations, transfer stations, landfills, and recycling facilities. The Great Lakes Area of WM encompasses, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. In Michigan, we currently operate 42 facilities, including 18 hauling sites, 14 landfills, 5 transfer stations, 3 material recovery facilities, and 3 landfill gas to energy facilities - while servicing over 400,000 customers and employing 1,324 individuals.
