Crystal Mountain Doubles the Fun with the Return of the Dual Alpine Slide

THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (July 19, 2024) – Get ready for double the thrills! Crystal Mountain is excited to announce the grand reopening of the iconic Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide this Saturday, July 20th.

This isn't your average summer attraction. The Crystal Coaster boasts two, 1600-foot-long tracks that wind down the mountainside, featuring high bank turns and tunnels. Riders control the speed with a hand brake on their individual sleds, making it a thrilling adventure for all ages.

"The alpine slide has been one of our most popular summer attractions for years," says Brittney Primeau, Director of Communications at Crystal Mountain. "We're excited to bring back the dual experience, offering double the fun for our guests."

The Alpine Slide is perfect for families and individuals seeking an adrenaline rush, as well as some great views from the chairlift and the top of the mountain. Here's what you need to know:

  • Must be at least 3 years old to ride with an adult.
  • Must be at least 52” tall and weigh at least 80 pounds to ride solo.
  • The maximum weight (individually or combined) is 300 pounds.
  • Summer schedule: July 20 - September 2 (hours vary).
  • Fall schedule: select dates (hours vary).

The Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide is just one of many summer attractions at Crystal Mountain. Guests interested in taking part in additional activities such as the Crystal Bungee Trampoline, Vertical Edge Climbing Wall, biking and disc golf, should consider one of the new Activity Action Packs.

“All of our summer attractions, including the outdoor pool and water playground, are open to day guests and overnight guests,” says Primeau. “Come for the day or stay the night. We have plenty to offer locals and visitors alike.”
