Traverse City Golf & Country Club announces Distinguished Club Accreditation

TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Founded in 1915 and comprised of approximately 560 households, members of the Traverse City Golf & Country Club known as the Gem on the Hill is pleased to announce that Traverse City Country Club is the proud recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Club Designation with Exceptional Status. The organization that presented this accreditation is The Boardroom Magazine/Forbes Travel Guide. Only 127 country clubs in the United States are classified as Distinguished Designation recipients.  The Distinguished Club accreditation is the hallmark of excellence. Boardroom Magazine determines status by verifying member experience and they are the only merit-based designation program for the private club industry.

Some notable US country clubs that have received this prestigious designation are Augusta National, Medina CC, Riviera CC, The Colonial, and The Greenbrier, to name a few.  Only five country clubs, two yacht clubs, and one athletic club in Michigan have this designation. We are the only Michigan country club to receive the designation in 2024. The other Michigan country clubs that carry this designation are Barton Hills CC, Birmingham CC, The Golf Club of Detroit, Midland CC, and Orchard Lake CC. As you can see from the country clubs listed above, we are joining a very select group of clubs. This is a great accomplishment and an enormous honor for TCCC.
 
All our members and staff played a significant role in our club's selection to receive the Distinguished Club Accreditation. Through their continuous support to make our club the best it can be, TCCC secured our place on this formidable list of country clubs. Our transformation from a golf course with a restaurant to a family-oriented and amenity-driven club created the opportunity to join a family of prestigious worldwide country clubs with the same values and who follow the guidelines of country club's best practices. Our changes at TCCC over the past 28 years have put us on this path to success.
  
Receiving this designation has created an excellent opportunity for our club to stand above our competition in the community. Prospective members will know that by joining TCCC, they will have chosen the absolute best country club in Northern Michigan.
