Donations Now Being Accepted for Up North Pride’s Free Winter Clothing Closet

Traverse City, MI – Up North Pride is currently taking donations of winter clothing items, including coats, hats, gloves, sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, pants, and boots, for a Free Community Clothing Closet at the Community Center at 314 E Eighth Street.

“It’s no surprise that there is need this time of year, given weather and financial strain. We wanted to help however we could and recognized the best resource we have is our community,” says Adrienne Brown-Reasner, Up North Pride Executive Director. “There has already been an incredible response to our call for donations. In fact, we had to add more donation hours as we were hearing from people with items to give!”

Up North Pride staff and volunteers will be taking in and sorting donations this week with the Free Clothing Closet opening for the community to visit starting the week of December 15th. Clothing items for all ages and sizes are welcome.

“Whether seeking something to keep yourself warm in the winter weather or wanting to gift to someone else, all are welcome to come and take what they need from the Community Closet” says Brown-Reasner.

Donations will be accepted this week during the following hours:

  • Tuesday - 12/9  11am-5pm

  • Wednesday - 12/10 12pm - 8pm

  • Thursday - 12/11 10am - 5pm

  • Saturday - 12/13 12pm - 4pm
