Traverse City Food & Wine Now Features Over 70 Events
The inaugural five-day celebration kicks off on August 20

Traverse City, Mich. — Traverse City Food & Wine has now grown to include over 70 unique events. The flavorful new celebration planned for next month will spotlight dozens of Traverse City-area businesses that include farm-to-table cuisine, nationally renowned culinary talent, and creative winemakers from the Traverse Wine Coast.

The five-day festival, which was announced last month by Traverse City Tourism, is anchored by The Grand Tasting on Saturday, August 23rd at the Open Space Park on the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. The Grand Tasting offers an all-star lineup of culinary talent and wine experts. It includes cooking demonstrations and conversations with award-winning chefs. Guests can sample small bites from local restaurants and taste over 100 wines, beers, and local beverages.

In the surrounding days there are numerous fine-dining meals, wine pairings, chef demonstrations, and classes, along with related festivities. A diverse schedule of events allows attendees to curate a personalized experience and itinerary. The celebrations kick off with cooking demonstrations at the Sara Hardy Farmers Market in downtown Traverse City on Wednesday morning and wrap up with Chef Mei Lin’s multiple-course wine pairing dinner at Nobo Riverside on Sunday evening. Several events have already sold out.

Since tickets went on sale in early June, many new events have been added, including:
  • Two National Writers Series conversations: Friday evening will feature acclaimed chef and television host Antoni Porowski; Saturday evening will offer a unique behind the scenes look at culinary competition shows with two Top Chefs and a producer “dishing it out”
